About Vox
Vox (the latin word for "voice") is a national organization of pro-choice student groups on college campuses. The program is designed to educate and mobilize students in support of reproductive health and rights. We organize public events, educate our peers, support our local Planned Parenthood health centers, and mobilize students to speak out for reproductive rights and access to reproductive health services.
Our Mission Statement
Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood of Washington State University exists to educate the university community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.
Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood at Washington State University believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her fertility. Vox supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.
What We Do
Vox hosts several events and programs to realize our mission statement. Past activities include:
- Panel discussions and film screenings on choice-related issues
- Distributing information about safe sex and emergency contraception
- Attending the annual Reproductive Health and Rights lobby day in Olympia, WA
- Planned Parenthood message training
- STI education training for members and STI education presentations for local greek houses and other groups that may request our services
